Dude so little notes?
This is really relevant to our followers, who are regularly stalked by TITP trolls and other fat haters (and since fat’s a big intersectional issue, who get other forms of hate as well).
D: only 18k notes… it looks like there are a lot of anon hate senders
This isn’t even at 30k yet?! This should have at least 100k or more notes by now! C’MON TUMBLR, GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER AND REBLOG THIS!

readyshredyspaghetti replied to your post: What made you question (and ultimately walk away from) religion? What all lead up to that point? [No, Im not here to try and save your soul, Im just at a crossroad here and I just wanted your perspective, if you dont mind sharing.]
this is so relatable to me.I had such similar experiences as a kid and remember trying hard to be a part of it all but just being creeped out, even at a young age. Ive read the bible multiple times in my life but you do have to have your own take.
Yeah. There was a time where my mom had a hernia and stayed home for a few months to recover. A lot of people gave us food, but I never felt like they were doing it because they were nice people but that they did it because their god tells them t so they can get to the afterlife I mean I’m grateful either way, but it didn’t seem genuine. Which is another thing I don’t like at all.
I haven’t really left religion to be honest and I think about it a lot on my stances so I’d rather say I’m more agnostic about it really. I don’t feel comfortable since I like the idea of an “afterlife” but at the same time I need to be rational since the religious dogma is really hypocritical.
I think listening to other people and their perspectives helped a lot. I didn’t go to church until I was 6-7 but I only went because the other kids couldn’t be mean to me since I was bullied in elementary school. I also was more into the idea of an after life, and thought “god” wasn’t perfect because from reading and hearing stories he sounded like a deity that was as contradictory as humans even though he was praised as perfect. After life seemed a bit more appealing, you know being with people I cared about and watching sailor moon all the time was a nice idea at the time.
Some people do really do great things and I get proud of them for doing it, but I never fit into the christian/religious environment really well. I just found it to be really two faced a lot, and very cult like which creeped me out as a kid.
One thing that sort of made me kinda rage quit at times was that people would be hypocritical about gay marriage, because it’s in the old testament but wouldn’t follow through on any other stuff from the old testament. From my knowledge the old testament isn’t something people should follow anymore since that Jesus fellow died for your sins, so why hold up something that isn’t legitimate anymore into law? Or why select a few things you don’t agree with and use god as an excuse to make it illegal? Same with abortions when people said “you shouldn’t give up something because the choices you’ve regretted” or some bullshit.
I’m still unsure though. I am just really put off by any religious text, many people who follow the religion, and people who try to and use the books as “fact” for laws (global warming, gay marriage, abortion, other civil rights).
So yeah. There’s probably a lot more and what not. I’d recommend just searching around, listening to other opinions and sort of formulate your own conclusions. Maybe your current religion isn’t for you, you might be like me and totally unsure, or just decide “nah no thanks” to it all.
Hope this is helpful? Sorry if it seems a bit scattered. I appreciate that you aren’t trying to ‘save my soul’ though ahaha. I certainly appreciate it. Hope you have an awesome day/night :D
