Size 10 jeans, please - meinfatkampf: Unpopular opinion: I’m not saying...

I'm a Canadian whovian nerdfighter who is made of awesome but I don't feel it with my body. My goal is to be motivated, and to fit into size 10 jeans to be as awesome as I feel on the inside while living in New Zealand.

I’m not saying any of this quote isn’t true. You DO have to move and eat better to be healthy. However, I get annoyed when people say stuff like ‘drop the donut and get off your ass and run you lazy fatty!’ and things of that nature. You seriously think that’s gonna motivate me and push me into health? God no! It’d probably make me hate you for being a dick and thinking you’re automatically better than me cuz that’s how it sounds. I hate negative motivation. Guilt trips basically. Maybe that works for some people, but the guilt that pushes them will go away and make them dislike themselves more. The positive motivation stays for a while and gets you seeking more positivity and change. And it’s also fucked up to assume a person who is large in size eats nothing but burgers and cake and sits around all day. Stereotyping kinda, don’t you think? Choose POSITIVE motivation instead! :)

I agree ^
It never worked for me. When I got comments on how I need to stop eating so much to lose weight it made me absolutely miserable. I got that kind of negativity at a weight loss program and they were very passive aggressive with me when I was 15. It made me binge more and made my self esteem go almost rock bottom.
I’m sure that works for some people, but unless you know for a fact that it motivates that certain person no need to apply it to everyone else.
