If you ever, EVER say to me that you are “too old to get fit/lose weight”, I will beat you in the face with pictures of women like this one.

I’m really sick of seeing weight loss blogs reblog these pants. I don’t support “thinspiration.” (Partially because the word itself annoys me, but mostly because you shouldn’t focus on “thin.” You should focus on “healthy” and/or “fit.”) I support inspiration, I support motivation, and I support visualization. But if you’re aspiring to be a skeleton, you’re aspiring for a death wish.

8 Steps To Be More Motivated

psych-facts:

1. Identify Your Objectives - What are your goals? List what you want to achieve. The bigger the goal the more you get to grow.

So how does one go about deciding on a goal? A goal is a commitment. So ask yourself what is it you need or want to change? For some, this might be getting better grades, because they are not doing so well in school or because they want scholarships or to get into the college they want. For others, it might be making more friends, because they value friendship, enjoy having fun or want to learn more about people through interactions.

So begin by listing your goals, finding out what you need, and identifying the motives behind them.

2. List the possible steps to get there. - There’s a saying that to achieve a goal, you need to plan, set a due date and take action. The second step, you can accomplish by first brainstorming ideas or you can look for a model or role model and listing the steps that helped them get to their goals. The second way is actually easier because you will learn from their mistakes and be able minimize those same mistakes happening to you. Furthermore, it saves you time.

However, if a model is not available, you do have to resort to your own brain. You have to ask yourself what can I do to get to where I want? How will these steps help me get there?

I Choose The Hard Ways

You’ve probably answered this so many times, but how do you stay motivated and what do you do to fight against self esteem issues?

I’m kind of going through something like that, but with life and being a sad potato.

With fighting against self esteem issues I just followed fat-positive, body positive, sex positive blogs and i got over a few of my body issues. For example, i wouldn’t let my boyfriend touch my stomach before tumblr, and now I could care less. Following positive people with body issues kind of help cope with your body issue problems, and it makes me more willing to actively make yourself happier.

Motivation I guess would just make a vision board? I can’t do it, because I don’t have a printer/magazines/magazines don’t have good fashion most of the time for me. I have a plan to write out on big piece of paper a quote from Doctor who. So every time I feel like i’m not good enough I’ll read this on the other side of my bed “Nobody important. Blimey, that’s amazing. Did you know that in 900 years of time and space I’ve never met someone who wasn’t important before?”

Other motivations I guess would just think of the end result, and do little things. It’s okay to not do anything at all, but eventually you’ll have to get up and stop being sad/unmotivated. Although it’s hard, but you can do better than I can :P

Made this for myself

I made a motivational photoset a while back and I explained that my biggest motivation is to have confidence to wear awesome outfits at a realistic size for my body. I decided to make another one to remind myself why I’m doing this since my self esteem and motivation has been knocked down a bit.
