So my partners birthday was a few months ago and we had curry and I had palak paneer for the first time and it was so good that I finally went out to buy a pack of it to make at home. It wasn’t vegetarian, tofu is really expensive here (it can be from $4 to $6 in the store closest to me) so we had to make due with chicken. It was still pretty good though! I think when I get the ingredients and when spinach is in season I’ll make some from scratch cause the pre-made stuff was really salty and not as good.
I have a massive migraine, I barely ate today because of it, and I was too lazy to clean a bigger bowl for my salad just to clean it again so i used a ice cream container which is better for shaking and getting all the dressing on the salad more evenly anyways.
In the salad it has romaine lettuce (HELL YA it’s so hard to find it here for cheap but i got it on reduced price), arugula, spinach, chicken, and homemade croutons with olive oil and caesar salad dressing.
In my smoothie I have orange juice, spinach, strawberries, boysenberries, and whey protein.
So I found some cheap pop tarts here ($2 for two) because my partner wanted some and he’s never had it back in Canada, and well he fucked up. He forgot that our toaster is hells kiln and now our flat smells like burnt pop tarts
So I said I’d take a picture of how expensive pop tarts were here in nz and here you go~ I’m so glad I don’t really like these or else I’d be super sad
This was my breakfast from a few days ago! The smoothie has orange juice, frozen strawberries, 4 bananas, coconut milk (full fat~) and whey protein. The sandwich just has an egg, hummus, cheese, kale, and I added a lot of sriracha sauce, with a few chicken sausages :D
I made a protein smoothie a few days ago for me and my partner :D I used orange juice, two bananas, a bunch of golden kiwis, and whey powder. It was pretty good I kinda want to make another one.
Last nights snack~ My cold and flu drink thing and a muffin that my partner got at uni and didn’t eat. I normally don’t drink out of my tardis mug, but i couldn’t find any clean ones and couldn’t be bothered so hell ya
I made some butter chicken curry the other day! The sauce wasn’t from scratch, that was from a jar, but it was still pretty good. We had a lot vegetables that needed to be cooked I thought this would be a nice change for once. It had chicken, broccoli, cabbage, onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, cauliflower, and some more that I can’t remember. I’ll definitely try and make butter chicken from scratch when i get the chance.
I made some oatmeal last night! It’s basically just cinnamon, dark chocolate buttons, peanut butter, and cranberry sauce. I found a huge thing of cranberry sauce for really cheap and since cranberries are expensive and I’ve never really seen frozen/fresh ones here I thought that would be nice to add in my oatmeal :D It was really delicious.
I’ve also had a bit of a salad craving since I haven’t had any in almost two years, so here’s what I made! It’s just lettuce, chicken, bell pepper, feta, alfalfa sprouts, and caesar salad dressing with water. Hense the princess bubble gum water tin.
I got a tuna roll when I went to the grocery store since I’ve had a craving for sushi for a few months now. Although I think they added a bit too much sugar in the rice but that’s okay my craving is gone for now~*~*~
So my partners father gave us a bag of feijoa’s and I never heard of these until I moved here and they’re kinda weird???? I mean the one I had when I moved here was all goopy and it tasted really sour. Once these are ripe (after I google how you can tell cause idk) I’ll give them a go again.
Made some food! It’s rice, with cabbage, broccoli, avocados with baked salmon and home made salsa verde! It’s pretty good :D I can’t wait to get more salmon on sale.
So I found the most hilariously pretentious drink at the grocery store and I’m just laughing so hard because it is the typical “fitspo” crap that you’d expect.
At least it tastes fine, it tastes as it looks.
So I forgot to post this buy I’m trying to make use of a cookbook I got when I first moved here that is full of soup and chilli recipes. So I made this one, and it’s really good. It’s also really quick (it would be quicker but I only have one burner that works ha). It’s also fairly cheap, and you can obviously adjust it to what you have on hand. Most of this was in a can, or prepackaged like the pasta.
